Baby Bunnies!!

Yeah we have baby bunnies! Late last night Cinderella gave birth to three beautiful bunnies. However one did not make it. Being her first litter we are excited that the two survived. She is such a great mom so far. making sure that they are all covered in fur and checking on them. It is really cute and amazing to see. We will be breeding Mowgli with our blue today since he is now a proven father and we are bringing home a beautiful frosty doe this Friday that has an amazing crown. Super exciting time. Fair time

Wow we had a lot of fun doing this. With Cinderella not being pregnant (we are pretty sure) we entered her into the fair along with mogawli, tinkerbella, and moonlight. Unfortunate someone took moonlight out of his cage and stuck him in a chicken cage. He is now sick and under vet care. Really frustrating. WE will also be putting all our rabbits on antibiotics as a precaution. Tinkerbella won blue Ribbon!! YEAH!

Our Mogawli won a Blue Ribbon as well!! The judge seemed to like him a lot because he kept petting him. Great job for his first show

Now our Cinderella, She also won a Blue Ribbon and was a contender for Grand Champion. She lost to an older Sable Point. (Which I didn't think was nearly as cute):( As you can see the Judge used a star to indicate Grand Champion, when my daughter asked him, why he put the star, he told her that he really liked her. We are still really proud of all of our bunnies and kids.

Sad news...

Well I am sad to report that I think we had a miss. As I palpated Cinderella today, I could not feel any babies. So super sad about it. We will wait for Monday to re-breed her just in case. On the good news, we have several of our other Hollands at the fair this weekend. We will let you know the results. Also on Saturday we are picking up two new does. Check out their pages.

Less than a week away

I can't believe how fast time has gone! We are 4-6 days away from our first litter! I am so excited and I can tell Cinderella is ready to see her babies. I am really hoping that all will go well. Today my husband and I are going to build nest boxes. How fun will that be. Seriously, I live for this stuff. Will post some pictures once we get to work.

Notes from the funny farm

This heat has been crazy! Even though my rabbits are housed indoors, it still has been a bit much for them. So as an attempt to keep them cool, we have been putting in frozen water bottles twice a day. The very first time, it was rather funny. They stared at the bottles for quite a long time from the other side of the cage. They had no idea what to make of it. But thankfully they soon figured it out and are loving the relief that it brings. If you have your rabbits outdoors please remember that even in the shade they can still over heat.
